Voices of Our Youth is guided by its Executive Board who promote a culture that embraces the differences, welfare and self-worth of every human by connecting individuals, from services to solutions.
These are currently all volunteer positions. Open positions will say OPEN.
Our Chief Operations Officer Teri Harrison is acting as our Chief Financial Officer until the position is filled.
We are fortunate to have a select group of volunteer leaders who bring their own unique backgrounds, personalities, and network to join us in our mission.
Tonya has a BA in Human Development with a Concentration on Child and Family Education, soon to finish a Masters Degree in Human Behavior and Counseling. She has worked over 10 yrs in Community and Educational Advocacy, along with that are attributes within herself that have naturally inspired her to become a voice to the voiceless and a beacon of hope to the hopeless. When she is not volunteering support the great purpose of Voices of Our Youth, she is by profession a Behavior Interventionist, assisting individuals to eliminate or replace disruptive, harmful, or negative behaviors with positive actions. It is the human condition, that has always inspired/motivated her to become educated, to develop a clear understanding of how to make life easier for someone, by understanding the way the mind works. It is the human condition that she will always serve to support or enhance an individuals life circumstance in any way that she can.
These individuals share a deep concern for our community. Their wisdom and experience have been invaluable in guiding Voices of Our Youth to achieve their mission.
The Food Service Director shall be responsible for food service-related business and personnel management. She is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and directing the work duties of all food service personnel, including the preparation and distribution of meals. She will make sure that all local, state, and federal agency requirements are in compliance. She is responsible for the preparation of menus, the cleanliness of kitchen areas and proper handling and storage of all equipment and foods. She is responsible for arranging for adequate staff and volunteers and arranging for substitutes as needed.
The Volunteer Engagement and Promotions Director develops, recruits, supports, and oversees the collaboration between staff and volunteers and is responsible for recruiting and managing those groups of volunteers, as well as individual members of volunteer organizations. She is also responsible for a diverse variety of program planning and organizational tasks; but is focused on advertising, by using social media, print advertising, radio, television, and special events to build interest in the organization.
The Media Commentator (Disk Jockey) is in charge of bringing music to our events. He ensures that the music is appropriate for our audience, encourages guests to dance, hosts games, takes requests, and makes announcements.
The Community Engagement Director engages community stakeholders, to build support for our events so we achieve a greater impact among the individuals and families served by ourselves and our partnering agencies.
The Community Service Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating social service programs on behalf of the organization. They oversee the program’s policies regarding participant involvement, program requirements and its benefits. They also establish and maintain relationships with like-minded organizations and groups, determine program mandate and direction by analyzing community needs, and promote the programs and services of the organization to community groups.
The Fundraising Director develops fundraising strategies, formulates solicitation procedures, and oversees all fundraising activities. They also identify new donor bases, they direct and coordinate solicitation of funds.
The Grant Proposal Director oversees the development of grant proposals to foundations, corporations and government agencies. Working with other staff members, grant proposal directors identify funding opportunities and search for grants to support a wide array of projects—from unrestricted operating expenses to equipment, scholarships and highly specific projects. They also prepare a number of supporting documents for a proposal, such as cover letter, endorsement letter, document describing how the funds will be used, etc. They also follow up on submitted proposals and respond to donor’s queries.
The Community Outreach Director is responsible for creating outreach programs, as well as supervising outreach teams and communicating with employees, volunteers, and the general public. They will build and strengthen relationships with media, government, community, and related organizations.
The Program Director oversees, plans, implements, markets and evaluates the organizations different programs. They provide supervision and direct oversight of administrative and operational functions in order to achieve project sustainability and success in accordance with the defined targets, strategies and goals.
