Currently we rent trucks (approximately $350 per day) to pick up the pallets of food and merchandise that are donated to us. Unfortunately, we have had issues securing a truck due to availability and had to turn down merchandise. If we had our own truck we would not have to worry about not having trucks available when we get the call to pick up merchandise. We are looking for a newer truck to meet our needs.
With the pallets that we get donated it is a struggle to remove the boxes one by one off each pallet. Having a forklift would make this process faster and more efficient.
Our ultimate goal is a compound. However, we need a larger office space to accommodate the programs and services we want to offer our community. With a warehouse we would be able to accept more donations because we would have a place to store, sort and distribute the items allowing us to use funds currently going towards storage fees elsewhere and enabling us to help more families.
We would love to be able to offer transportation to and from events, as well as transportation to appointments and job interviews for those who don't have access to transportation. In doing research, we discovered that our local Build Your Dream (BYD) facility manufactures a C6 23' Electric Motor Coach that would be perfect for our needs.
We would love to be able to take small groups of youth on camping or fishing trips. During these excursions we would engage with the youth getting to know what their struggles are, what they need and offer mentorship to help guide them through life. We are looking a for newer model with 2 bathrooms if possible.
We are in need of industrial shelving to put storage tubs on with sorted donations for easier inventory and access.
We need sturdy tubs for storage of donated items.
We need clothes racks to hang and sort the donations we receive so community members in need can easily get what they need.
